Friction
Friction is the forcing resistance of motion on a surface. In physics, friction was discovered during an experiment involving Newton's First and Second Law. Friction coverts the kinetic energy it has to thermal energy. Friction can occur on a solid surface, fluid layers, and other kinds of material.
Relation to tug of war
review questionsIn a tug of war game on rough ground, who will win?
The team who applies the most friction force on ground. |
Tug of war relates to friction because the teams apply their force on the ground to not move. The less force they apply, the less friction they'll have and they'll start to move.
